A Conversation with Carolyn Galiette
As founding partner and chief investment officer of Ironwood Capital, Carolyn Galiette has a deep well of knowledge about the mezzanine market, which she says has “exploded” in recent years. In this interview, she discusses how to overcome common challenges such as deals that break covenant, as well as less common, but inevitable, events such as industry downturns. Carolyn also shares her views on gender parity, which she says “has to be organic,” and suggests that LPs must help management teams and GPs recognize that having a diversified team is highly beneficial. And while the set-aside programs that LPs have are important and well-intentioned, it’s equally important to not only support funds that are all women, but also ensure that every fund has a diversity of opinion.
Tune in to this new video for the full interview.
